Lewis Hamilton topped the FP2 session with teammate Valteri Bottas back in second at the 2018 Russian Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion set the fastest lap on a set of hypersoft tyres during the qualifying simulations. Bottas backed Mercedes with a 1-2 on the same set of tyres.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was leading the session for the first half but was relegated to third. Daniel Ricciardo followed his teammate and finished the session 4th, 0.459s behind the leader.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel had a below average session as ended up 5th in the session alongside teammate Kimi Raikkonen in 6th.
Sergio Perez finished the session as the best of the rest, his teammate Esteban Ocon took hold of 9th position. Future Red Bull Racing driver Pierre Gasly finished a solid 8th in the upgraded Honda engine as Marcus Ericsson completed the top 10.
